Ready for next autumn semester?

The autumn semester of 2025 starts on 1 September. On this page we have gathered useful information about what you should know and do before then. It is a live page, so remember to come back now and then and look for updates.

The autumn semester of 2025 starts on 1 September and formally ends on 18 January 2026.

Admissions

International students can follow the admission process online on www.universityadmissions.se.

National students use the corresponding address www.antagning.se.

International master students – "First round"

Log in and look for My pages (or "Mina sidor").

27 March: Admissions results published (Admitted students have received information via e-mail)

August: Welcome activities

14 August: Last day to fulfill the eligibility requirements

18 August: A one-time activation code is sent out to admitted students that don't have a Swedish personal identity number.

1 September: The Master's program starts and we will organize a welcoming meeting. Information was sent out on 2 June.

Online courses and National students – "Second round"

10 July: Admissions results published (Reply required) 

18 July: Reply deadline

24 July: Second admissions results (no reply required)

Course registration and more

Before the semester starts you need to register on the courses you plan to take. Some courses may also have an introductory meeting which you should try to attend.

You will find information about course registration in the welcome letter we will send you before the start of term. We will send this to the e-mail address you have entered on www.universityadmissons.se / www.antagning.se.

Please make sure your e-mail address is correct.

International master students

New students: E-mails with information about course registration is sent to all new admitted students on 2 June. If you have not received an e-mail by 18 August, you should contact studyadmin@psychology.su.se for assistance.

Returning students: If you are starting your 3rd term you will get an e-mail with information. Please check that your e-mail address in Ladok for students is still valid, and check for new e-mails regularly (every day).


Incoming exchange students

Incoming exchange students should have been in contact with the International coordinator concerning their course choices. The International coordinator has sent all necessary information regarding the start of the semester by e-mail.

If you have not received an e-mail or have questions concerning your course registration you should contact the International coordinator at exchange@psychology.su.se


Re-registration

If you need to complete a course that you did not finish a previous semester, you should re-register on that course to be able to join the classes. Re-registration is only possible if space is available on the course. Please note that you do not need to re-register to sign up for a re-examination (see information below).

Please send your request for re-registration to studyadmin@psychology.su.se. Include your full name, personal identification number and the course in question. You will be informed whether you can be re-registered by the end of August, before the start of term, via e-mail.


Re-examinations

If you have (written) examinations you need to take, you can login to Ladok for students and see if there are any examinations that you can sign up for. If you cannot find any examinations in Ladok you might need to re-register, please see information above.

General information such as the course syllabus, course literature and contact information can be found on the course page in the University course catalogue. This information is available for everyone.

Courses and programmes (find you course here)

As a registered student you will find detailed course instructions, handouts and learning activities in our learning platform Athena. Syllabus and schedule are also available from within Athena. You communicate with your teachers and fellow students within Athena.

You may find it handy to download the app called "Itslearning" for quick access to your course communications. The app is free and available on the app stores for iOS and Android.

Please note that you need to activate your University account and be registered on a course to be able to log in to Athena and several other services. Read more about IT for students further down.
