Are you curious about what goes on at a marine research station? You are welcome to visit us at Askö Laboratory when we present current marine research and show our vessels and laboratory spaces on 14 June!
Come to Askö and discover the sea below the surface! Photo: Jesper Ström
There are many methods for studying the sea at the Askö Laboratory, and it is from here that much of the knowledge we have today about the Baltic Sea originates. Researchers come here to study the organisms and habitats in the Baltic Sea, from the seabed all the way up to the atmosphere. During this day we will show how some of this research is done. You will also see underwater marine robots under development and new technologies that enable scientists to study how the sea and the climate affect each other. For those who want to look under the surface themselves, wetsuits, wading boots and binoculars are available.
If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact the Askö Laboratory directly. Telephone number: 08-553 785 80
